MHEC Awards TU and MGP a $155,000 Professional Development Grant
The Maryland Higher Education Commission has provided Towson University, MGP, and City Schools with an “Improving Teacher Quality” professional development (PD) grant. The $155,000 award funds a year-long math PD for City Schools teachers, created by Towson and MGP staff.
What does this mean for MGP?
- A comprehensive math PD from April 2012 through March 2013 for all MGP math teachers and many non-MGP math teachers—at all nine MGP schools.
- Four Towson professors acting as consultants and lead instructors for the PD.
- Guidance and support to our nine MGP principals in evaluating math teaching as well as implementing appropriate math curricula.
