Curriculum Goals

Our sites involve over 400 Baltimore City middle school students in eight summer and school-year programs, each jointly planned and provided by one Baltimore public middle school and its partner private school.  MGP first identifies potential scholars for our program during their 6th grade year in Baltimore City schools.  By the end of the third summer in the Middle Grades Partnership, students will meet goals in the following three content areas.

	Mathematics Students will be ready to succeed in high school Algebra.
	Writing Students will view themselves as writers and be able to write clear descriptive and expository paragraphs and multi-paragraph essays.
	Reading Students will view themselves as readers, with comprehension skills at or above grade level. They will read willingly for pleasure, and they will easily cite text to support interpretation.
