The Program

The Middle Grades Partnership supports partnerships between public and independent schools to provide comprehensive summer and after-school learning opportunities for academically promising Baltimore City middle school students.

By preparing more than 600 students to thrive in rigorous high schools, colleges and beyond, the Middle Grades Partnership aspires to provide a core of leadership for Baltimore.

The MGP does this by:

• Preparing students for rigorous high school and college-level math courses.
• Arming students with the reading and writing skills needed to excel in the knowledge and technology-based economy of the 21^st century.
• Training teachers to accurately assess students’ strengths and weaknesses while teaching for maximum student learning and self-confidence.
• Surrounding students with individualized care and attention so that each student will view him or herself as destined for the top.
• Reaching across cultural boundaries of race, class, gender, age, and ethnicity.
