Mission Statement
The Middle Grades Partnership supports partnerships between public and independent schools to provide comprehensive summer and after-school learning opportunities for academically promising Baltimore City middle school students so that they may thrive in rigorous high schools, college and beyond. Through this work, the Middle Grades Partnership aspires to provide a core of leadership for Baltimore.
Core Beliefs
- Students graduating from the MGP program will qualify for an academically challenging city-wide high school.
- Students learn when relationships and connections among students, teachers, and families are visible and strong.
- Students rise to the challenge of high yet realistic goals and aspirations. MGP programs are academically rigorous, tailored to the needs of each student, and standards-based with ongoing assessment of progress.
- Students in the MGP are selected by the principals and teachers who know them. They are already working at or above proficiency level.
- MGP students will attend class every day.
